Product Description

The flowering dogwood (Cornus florida) is perhaps the most beautiful native tree in Alabama. For a short time in the spring it is covered with white flowers and in the fall its leaves turn red. Taken in Alabama by Mike Neilson, a artistic photographer in Birmingham, Alabama, this image shows details of a dogwood “flower,” actually four white bracts (modified leaves) surrounding a central cluster of flowers. According to a legend, the bracts represent a cross, the embayed and brown-stained end of each a nail print, and the center a crown of thorns. Each print is signed and numbered as one of a limited edition of 250. 8” x 8” image size printed with pigmented ink on matte paper. Ships in 1 - 2 weeks.
