In 1999 the Alabama Legislature designated Camellia japonica L. Alabama's state flower. Mike Neilson, an artistic photographer in Birmingham, Alabama, captured this unusual image of a camellia flower after it had been frozen during a late March cold spell in Alabama. Each print is signed and numbered as one of a limited edition of 250.
