We were skeptical about The Salt Pig, but we tried it and now are die hard fans. Once you own one of these, you can't live a day without it. Fill the mouth with salt and place in an area where you enjoy cooking. Salt is conveniently ready for you to use in a nice-looking vessel. The dome shape and clay keeps salt dry, even during Alabama summers. You'll be buying them for your friends!
Designed and hand created by Lynne Killion, a potter in Birmingham, Alabama who creates from earth-friendly material - natural clay. Everything from the extraction of clay from the ground (much less invasive than metal materials), to the handcrafting of the vessel (as opposed to a manufacturing facility) to the non-synthetic glaze used, is environmentally friendly. Lynne uses every scrap of clay and glaze. She functions without the need for a trashcan! She also never buys packing material because 100% of her packing is with recycled material.
Comes in two great colors, rustic (pictured at top) and beige & caramel (side picture). 5 1/2 " tall. Ships in 1-3 days.
